From 2013, young people will be required to remain in some form of learning or training up to 17 years old, and up to 18 years old from 2015. This does not mean you must stay in school full time - it could mean an apprenticeship or part-time education or training for around a day per week if you are employed, self-employed or volunteering full-time (which is defined as 20 hours or more a week). For more information, see Raising the Participation Age (RPA).
