In a competitive job market having a good understanding of what you are good at will give you a head start over other applicants

If you are about to invest a lot of money in a university course are you sure it is right for you?

Taking a psychometric assessment and discussing the results with one of our expert advisers could be a good investment in your career.

Psychometric assessments will help you identify your personal style and how this can be used to your advantage in the work place. If you are not sure what job roles could be suitable for you they will help you explore possible roles.

After you have completed the online assessment you will discuss the results for up to one hour with an adviser. You will also receive a written report to take away with you. Additional time to prepare for job interviews or college applications with your adviser can also be purchased.

Do you want to know…

  • how to find out what you are good at?
  • how you can make the most of your skills and aptitudes?
  • how you can find out about the sorts of jobs that will use your skills and abilities?

Psychometric assessments will help you answer all of these questions.

Psychometric assessment is used both by those seeking the right direction to take in their career, and by employers looking to ensure they recruit the right people. Psychometric assessment can include the measurement of knowledge, abilities, aptitudes and personality traits.

A psychometric profile will help an individual to discover where their strengths lie in order to make the most of them. With a personality profile there are no right or wrong answers, it is not about finding the best from the rest, but helping individuals better understand themselves to improve their decision making.  Assessments are designed to allow individuals to evaluate the relationship between their own abilities, goals, interests and personal values and potential careers.

Taking a psychometric assessment can help you identify those areas of work which will make best use of your skills, aptitudes and interests.  It will help you become aware of those things which interest you and you are good at – which even on a bad day you can do better than others.  It is better than an interview alone for determining interests and aptitudes.  Coupled with a careers interview which is informed by your results, it will enable you to take the first steps to a successful career.

So what happens?

Careers South West offers psychometric assessment with a one hour follow up interview to feedback the results, for £99 (incl. VAT). You will also receive a ten page, word processed report to take away with you. Click here to view a sample report.

You can book your psychometric assessment here. Careers South West will then make contact to arrange for you to take the psychometric assessment online and arrange the feedback session at a time and place which is mutually convenient.  At the interview you will be presented with your personalised report and have the opportunity to discuss the things this report tells you and how this fits with your particular interests and plans.  The session will last for one hour, after which you will be able to take the report away with you.  After you have had time to reflect, should you require further help, we will be pleased to book further appointments for you.  Further appointments are charged at the reduced rate of £45 (incl. VAT)
