Contracts awarded to deliver an adult careers service
The Skills Funding Agency has announced the appointment of 12 organisations to deliver Next Step, a free adult careers service in England from August.
Independent advice and guidance for young people in care and their families
From time to time all young people can benefit from impartial advice to help them make key decisions about their future. For those who are currently in care or are leaving care the issues can be even more complex and many of them will need additional help in overcoming barriers to work, personal issues and finding suitable housing.
South West school leavers say ‘yes’ to full-time education
Latest figures released this week, show increasing numbers of 16 year old school leavers in the four local authority areas of Cornwall, Devon, Plymouth, and Torbay are going on to full-time education, and that the number of young people who were unemployed after year 11 has fallen to its lowest recorded level.
Services joining up to help Torbay’s young people
Careers South West Ltd now works increasingly closely with youth services as part of the Integrated Youth Support Services arrangements - one part of the Government's Every Child Matters initiative.
