Careers Advice in Cornwall and Devon is Alive and Kicking!

Posted on Oct 20, 2011

This week Radio One and BBC3 have focused on helping people find employment.  As reported on Radio One today Connexions centres across the UK are closing due to cuts in funding.  We want to reassure young people and adults in our region that Careers South West are continuing to deliver Connexions services for young people in schools, those who have left education and are looking for work, and also support services to adults.

Chief Executive Jenny Rudge said: “Despite significant cuts we have worked closely with our commissioners – the local authorities to ensure that we are still able to offer a high quality service to young people in schools and through our high street centres.”

“We are delighted with the way schools and colleges in our area are currently taking the commissioning of careers advice seriously.  They will take on the full responsibility of this next September, but even now many schools and colleges are buying in extra help for their students from Careers South West.”

You can contact Careers South West on freephone 0800 97 55 111. Calls from a landline are free and you'll be connected to your nearest centre. Calls from a mobile may be subject to a network charge - you'll be connected to our Head Office, but we can redirect you to your nearest centre.
